Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers travel to the bay area for a shot at the big game vs the 49ers, led by Jimmy G and that ferocious defensive line. The Packers are for sure going to have their hands full, but ill say it right now, I think Green Bay wins the game as a 7-point dog and goes to the Super Bowl. Rodgers will get it done in a game where few think they can pull it off. The 49ers are a more complete team, but if you ask me who has the best QB, WR and RB on the field, the answer is the Packers.

The 49ers go running back by committee and have one of the best rushing offenses in the league without a doubt, but in the playoffs, it comes down to scheming. The Packers defensive players and coaches know that if they do not stop the run game of this team, they will be going home. They must force Jimmy G to beat them through the air and I think if they can do that, they’ll have a real good chance.

Keys for the Pack

For the Packers it needs to start with stopping the run and finding a way to run the ball right at the 49ers pass rushers and don’t allow Bosa and the boys to put their hand in the dirt and tee off on Rodgers. It’s a must that this team stays balanced on Sunday. Rodgers will have windows to throw but only if they get the run game established. WR Davantae Adams will need to play well and get separation from whoever is covering him. He’s one of the best route runners in the league and needs to be that for Rodgers this Sunday. They NEED to be creative in their pass blocking schemes as well. Like don’t leave Jimmy Graham one on one with Bosa, just don’t do it. Slide the line, keep an extra back in to protect, do what you need to do to give Rodgers some time to make throws and create some magic like he’s done in the past. On the defensive side they need to be all in on stopping the run.

The 49ers ran the ball 49 times to just 19 pass attempts vs the Vikings. Jimmy G is still inexperienced in games with this much magnitude and I think the Packers can force him into some mistakes if you limit their rushing attack and don’t let these speedy receivers get a free release down the field.

Keys for the 9ers

For the 49ers it’s simple what their key to victory is; do what they’ve done all season long. Run the ball, play defense, and get after the quarterback. Pretty simple formula for this team that’s gotten them the #1 seed and a home game for a chance at the Superbowl. They don’t have the big superstar names on their offense, but they’ve got a bunch of guys who want to win and will do anything it takes. Tevin Coleman, Raheem Mostert, Deebo Samuel, Kendrick Bourne. Not household names by any stretch but for this team, those guys couldn’t mean anymore then they do.

I don’t expect the 49ers to come out and lay a dud and just give this game to Green Bay, no way in hell that happens. But I think with this being the Packers second time playing this team, they’ll be more prepared for what their going to face. This game is going to be a fight until the end, but like I said at the beginning, I think the Packers win it. I think its Rodgers chance to get back to the Bowl and have a chance to add another ring to his finger. You’re viewed a little bit differently if you have 2 rings opposed to just 1 and Aaron, of all people, certainly knows that.

Final Prediction

30-28 Packers.
