We are entering Week 11 of the NFL season and in the fantasy football season and if you’re starting wide receiver isn’t nursing a hamstring injury, an ankle sprain or a tight quad…he’s probably being placed on the COVID-19 list. It is that time of the season where we have to combat injuries however we can and make the best of it. It’s a big part of fantasy football but something everyone deals with. Luckily for you, there are some excellent waiver wire options this week and some fantastic guys that you can add to your lineup. Let’s take a look at the best pickup options for Week 11.
Jakobi Meyers – WR – New England Patriots
If you need a wide receiver who can plug into your starting lineup right away, Jokobi Meyers is a must. He has emerged as the Patriots top wide receiver over Julian Edelman and N’Keal Harry. Meyers was a non-factor in the beginning of the season and was then injured but he came back in Week 7 and played in 41 percent of snaps. In his two games after that, he’s played in 64 and 57 percent of snaps. In the last two weeks, he has 16.9 points and 10.8 points. The encouraging part of Meyers game is that the Patriots are using him in different ways, he passed for a touchdown last week. This means he is here to stay and should rack up the numbers.
Salvon Ahmed – RB – Miami Dolphins
Someway and somehow Salvon Ahmed has become the leading back for the Miami Dolphins. Jordan Howard has underperformed, Myles Gaskin is on the IR and Matt Breida was sidelined last week for an injury which led the way for Ahmed. The undrafted free agent who played at Washington popped off for 15 points in his first start last week after rushing 21 times for 85 yards and a touchdown. It looks like he could be splitting carries with Breida this week and Gaskin should be back next week, but he is a good FLEX option for Week 11.
Taysom Hill – QB/TE – New Orleans Saints
Drew Brees is out for two to three weeks and it’s….Taysom Hill time, NOT Jameis Winston, in Nola. No one really knows what to expect from Taysom Hill as a starting quarterback. When Brees was sidelined last year, Teddy Bridgewater was the starting QB in his absence, not Hill. Here is what is so intriguing about this, Hill is listed as a TE/QB in many fantasy football leagues. Thinking what I’m thinking? Hill can be used in a FLEX spot or the TE spot and still rack up points at the QB position. I’m all in for playing a wildcard in fantasy football.
Kirk Cousins – QB – Minnesota Vikings
I cannot believe I am typing these words but Kirk Cousins is a legitimate option this week for a spot start if you are seriously desperate. He is facing the Dallas Cowboys who have one of the worst pass defenses in recent years and Cousins is heating up at the right time. Last week, he threw for 292 yards and two touchdowns. Between Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson, Cousins is in good hands in terms of offensive weapons.
