If you had told me that the Washington Football Team game against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 15 would be pivotal to who would make the NFL playoffs, I would have thought you had taken something you shouldn’t have. The Washington Football Team is in the driver’s seat of the NFC East with their 6-7 record after taking down the San Francisco 49ers and the Pittsburgh Steelers in back-to-back weeks. The Football Team is riding a four-game winning streak and they don’t look like they can be stopped, (this is a joke.)
On the other hand, the Seattle Seahawks have had quite the up and down season. In the beginning, the Seahawks looked like the top dogs in the NFC but most were too quick to judge the book by its cover. The Seahawks have come back down to Earth and no longer own the first spot in the division. Russell Wilson has thrown out his MVP hopes and has had a real issue of turning the ball over. This game is important for the Hawks as they are hoping to stay alive in the Wild Card and still have an excellent shot at winning the division. After this game, their schedule is tough as they’ll face the Rams and the Niners in two extremely important games.
The Football Team boasts a defense that has been extremely impressive so far this year. Two aspects that they excel in is forcing turnovers and getting to the quarterback. If you’ve watched any Seahawks games this season, you know that Wilson’s kryptonite lies in those two things.
Chase Young is making a serious push for Defensive Rookie of the Year and it seems likely that this could be another standout game against a Hawks offensive line that hasn’t been overly impressive throughout the entire year.
The biggest question for this game for me is what the Football Team will look like on offense. Alex Smith had to leave last week’s game with an injury and Dwyane Haskins had to step in. Smith should be back this week but they are likely going to be without starting running back Antonio Gibson. This is a Hawks defense that Washington can take advantage of but they need the right tools in place to get it done. When a team is riding a winning streak like theirs, changing the formula is never a good thing.
Football Team Players to Watch:
Washington, JD McKissic: The Football Team is going to need a serious game from McKissic if they want any real chance of winning this one. Last week he put a good showing with 68 yards but he has just one touchdown on the year and is used mostly as a wide receiver from the backfield. It’s time for him to be the back they need.
Seahawks Players to Watch
Seattle, Chris Carson: Chris Carson has been hot and cold this year and similar to Washington, the run game is very important here. He hasn’t rushed for over 100 yards in a few weeks and it’s time to get Carson back to a high amount of touches.
Football Team vs. Seahawks Prediction:
