It finally happened. It took until Week 13 of the NFL Season but the Pittsburgh Steelers reign as the only undefeated team in the National Football League is over. No one would have predicted the Steelers to begin their season off 11-0. On top of that, absolutely no one was predicting that the Washington Football Team was going to be the team that handed them their first L.
The Steelers have no concern when it comes to making the postseason. Their odds for that are great than 99 percent but winning the division just got a bit tighter after their loss to Washington as the Browns have been riding a high wave and are just two games back of the Steelers. Typically when a team falls like Pittsburgh, they can tend to fall pretty hard.
That’s not good news for them as they aren’t getting a cushy, soft opponent in Week 14. They are taking on the Buffalo Bills who are coming off one of their most dominant performances of the season so far. The Bills took on the San Francisco 49ers on the road and they blew them out, winning 34-24 after a garbage time touchdown for the Niners. Josh Allen was practically perfect in the game, going 32 of 40 for 375 yards and four touchdowns.
Buffalo is not the defense they were last year but they can still make big stops and with their offense playing at this level, it’s not crazy to think that the Bills could make a push for the AFC Championship Game. This will be a massive challenge for them against the top seeded team in their conference. Maybe I am being naive but I really like the Bills in this spot. The Bills are 5-1 straight up in their last six and 4-1 against the book in their last five. The Bills are a really fun team to watch and they have a 91 percent chance to win their division for the first time since 1995, according to FiveThirtyEight.
Bills Players to Watch:
Buffalo Bills, Cole Beasley: Stefon Diggs has been a huge addition for the Bills but Cole Beasley is turning heads in Buffalo. He has more yards than AJ Brown, more receptions that DK Metcalf, more yards per reception than DeAndre Hopkins and more 100-yard games than Tyreek Hill. He is having a monster season and he’s going to force the Steelers secondary to be on their toes with all the weapons Buffalo has on offense.
Steelers Players to Watch:
Pittsburgh Steelers, James Conner: The Steelers starting running back has missed the last two weeks on the COVID-19 list but even before that he wasn’t looking like himself. Conner went three straight weeks with less than 50 yards rushing and a single touchdown. The Steelers need to get their run game going in order to help out Big Ben and it all falls on Conner. This is going to be a shootout and Conner needs to be involved in the battle.
Steelers vs. Bills Prediction:
Call me crazy, but I roll with Bills Mafia.
Bills 28 Steelers 21
