There are so many video games that I want to play, and even more, coming out. This is a constant point of anxiety for me because there are just so many games and it’s hard to pick what to play next. The good news is that because there are so many games out there, we’ll never truly run out. So let me help you by pointing out some good options of what you could play next.
New Video Games
On April 1st, Outriders came out. This a third-person Shooter/Action RPG. It’s a cooperative shooter, much like Destiny or Anthem. The campaign can be played with friends or solo. There are multiple classes to choose from for your custom character. It looks interesting at the very least. Outriders is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S. PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
New Pokémon Snap is coming!! I didn’t know there were so many people like me who wanted another Pokemon Snap. It’s an on-rails shooter, but instead of shooting Pokémon with guns, you’re taking their pictures in unique scenarios. I just hope that there are more stages this time around. We can go take these pictures starting on April 30th, only on Nintendo Switch.
Returnal is an upcoming Sci-Fi Psychological horror game that will use the mechanics of a third-person shooter. I don’t know a whole lot about this one, but It looks insane. I’m getting some Dead Space mixed with Mass Effect vibes, which is great because I love both of those games.
What I’m Playing
I’ve been flip-flopping on the games I’m playing. But most consistently, I’ve been playing Super Mario 64 on my Switch. This game is a part of the Super Mario 3D All-Stars collection. It’s so much fun to replay through a childhood favorite…and keep getting stuck on levels. But I’ve been having a blast with it, even outside of how the game is supposed to play. It’s just fun to jump around levels sometimes!
I’ve also been playing The Deadly Tower of Monsters. This is an action-adventure game where the game’s story is supposed to an old sci-fi movie. You climb a giant tower that’s riddled with…you guessed it, monsters! It’s got some really good humor, and it’s just been a fun game to play.
On Xbox with a Gold subscription you’ll get access to Vikings: Wolves of Midgard (4/1-4/30), Truck Racing Championship (4/16-5/15), DarkVoid (4/1-4/15), and Hard Crops Uprising (4/16-4/30)
On PlayStation plus, you get access to Days Gone, and Zombie Army 4: Dead War on PS4, and Oddworld: SoulStorm on Ps5. (From 4/6 – 5/3)
My Monthly Recommendation
Recently, Sony announced that over the summer, it will be closing the digital stores for PS3 and PS Vita. So, here’s one of my favorite Vita games for you to pick up now before the store closes in August. Uncharted: Golden Abyss is an Uncharted game, but on a portable device!
This game takes place before the first game. It uses the game’s directional gyroscope controls for aiming, and the touchpad on the back for climbing and other in-game actions. I had a lot of fun playing this one on airplanes and car rides. The story is pretty interesting, but not the best in the series. I feel like it’s worth checking out, and maybe you’ll want to play the rest of the series after you play this one.
With so many games, it can be hard to make a choice, but hopefully, I was able to help you come up with some cool ideas.
Play on, Pals
